Being diagnosed this past year as a type 2 diabetic with an A1C sugar level that made a huge jump in just one year, I knew I had to do something real and long lasting. I was given a choice in three months to either go on medication or drop my weight. My choice, of course, was the latter. I weighed in at 258 lbs at the time, being considerably overweight. I am 6’7 1/12”, and should weigh 219 lbs. With my nutrition coach, Shari McCants, teaching me how to zero in on eating PFC’s every 3 hours ( protein, fat and carbs to balance blood sugar levels ) and the layout of the three phases of the program, in only 12 weeks I lost over 40 lbs! I feel terrific now, down to 218 lbs.while maintaining my weight and energy levels!

I’ll always remember my first day of PFC’s every 3. I looked at what was 3 ounces of a protein and 3 ounces of a carb and a serving of fat and said to myself, “I’m going to starve to death on this program.” But I found I wasn’t even hungry for 3 hours! My first chocolate protein shake was awesome and I started to believe that maybe I could really do this. I learned so much that if I failed, it wasn’t because of lack of knowledge, it was a lack of discipline and desire on my part.

To date, I’ve lost a total ( since my heaviest weight ) of 73 pounds. By the end of summer, I hope to have reached my goal of losing 100 pounds but gaining a whole lot more strength. Could I do this program without working out hard? I definitely could, but I’m hooked on feeling stronger. I have muscles that I can actually see for the first time in a very long time. That’s exciting! There were plateaus that I had to work through but thanks to the resources of Shari and Mark that were outlined for me, I was able to overcome them. When I get stuck on something I know where to go to get though it. When I’m tired and don’t want to work out, I know where to go to get up and get going. When I want to quit beating myself up, I know where to go to get inspired and be positive. I’m so grateful to be part of this movement!

Anyone can do this! I have loved and lived the plan. I even gave up soda, artificial sweeteners, and processed food.  Shari knew my struggles. She seemed to always know what was best for me too! She encouraged me to simply get back on track. I was in again  and ready to go! I’ve learned so much about myself during this journey that I won’t ever go back to “that old lifestyle”.

Shari McCants! Best coach ever, that helped me in ways you’ll never know! She inspired me when I needed it and got on me when I needed it—and she knows this business inside and out. The start of 2016 I knew I had to reduce my blood sugar, high blood pressure and weight,  as it was getting out of control, and my weight had soared up to 265 lbs! I started on my own weight loss journey and lost a total of 20 lbs. However, by July, my wife Jackie, through a friend at bible study, told her about and introduced us to a nutrition coach Shari McCants, who is an Internationally Certified Nutrition and Fitness Coach, teaching Venice Nutrition. We immediately signed up with Shari and started her program, Team-Bliss Nutrition, ( ) learning how to eat clean and healthy following the PFC system program rolled out by her mentor and associate, Mark Macdonald, founder of Venice Nutrition, which Shari is a graduate from.

From late July through the end of 2016 I lost another 25 lbs. My energy levels are now way up and my Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure are both within normal range. Shari helped us set up an individual eating schedule based on eating PFC’s : protein, fat and carbs, every 3 hours and an accountability meeting each week. She provided us with really great recipes shared by her and others on her Facebook Group ( closed to members of Team Bliss Nutrition only ) adding great variety and support to the overall plan.

As a Financial Advisor, author and Radio Show Host of, I have a very busy life and eating several times a day almost seemed an impossible task, but by following the schedule layed out for us it became very easy. My wife and I plan ( prep) our meals for the week,  and do our cooking together, on the weekends, so we make sure we stay on course.The great thing about this plan is that it is NOT a diet, but a healthy way of eating clean foods that constantly burn fat and become a way of life.

I invited Shari to come on our radio show and talk with our listeners about eating healthy and lowering blood sugar levels; she was an instant hit, as we had many emails and calls about her program. I have been living the lifestyle of eating PFC every 3 since June, 2016. It was with the assistance of Shari McCants and her nutrition coaching where I gained the confidence and learned what it takes to eat correctly and balance your blood sugar.
I had several reasons to begin taking control of my health and learning more about blood sugar stabilization. Prior to enlisting Shari’s help, I was feeling sluggish, had ‘brain fog’, and was overweight. Our son had been diagnosed, three years prior, with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 23. I had a father who was a Type 2 diabetic beginning in his 60s. My health screenings through work, considered me obese and my counts on most tests were higher than they needed to be, including my BMI. I was heading down the same path as my father and I didn’t want to live my life that way. Eating correctly has been a life changing experience for me as well as my husband. Within the first seven months of living PFC every 3, I lost 30 pounds and 28 inches. To add to the success, my husband lost 20 pounds. We both have more energy, lost the sluggish feeling, and we think more clearly now. We use to take Sunday afternoon naps but now are more productive and active.

As of this writing, both my husband and I have maintained our weight loss for three months. We continue to eat PFC every 3 and can tell when our bodies need to be refueled. We are forever grateful to Shari’s knowledge and expertise!
